CPT CODES

There are many existing CPT codes that can be billed when using Augment Therapy’s ARWell PRO product.

ARWell Academy and ARWell do not meet the definition of a medical device therefore billing when using these tools is not recommended.

Here is some general coding information:

Per the American Medical Association, CPT Professional Edition, 2024, the description of CPT code 0791T is as follows:

Motor-cognitive, semi-immersive virtual reality– facilitated gait training, each 15 minutes (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure).

CPT code 0791T is considered a Category III code. Category III codes are temporary codes for emerging technology, services, procedures, and service paradigms.

Code 0791T is scheduled to sunset January 2029. This means this code will no longer exist after that date unless the AMA CPT Editorial Committee permanently adopts an equivalent before then.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have given code 0791T a status indicator of “C”. Status indicator “C” indicates this is a Medicare Administrator Contractor (MAC) priced code. MACs will establish RVUs and payment amounts for these services, generally on an individual case-by-case basis following review of documentation.

0791T is billed in conjunction with CPT code 97116 – Gait Training. Per CPT Changes 2024 – An Insider’s View, “code 0791T represents each 15 minutes of practice expense in conjunction with code 97116”.
